OUR ACADEMICS

The school has well over 200 highly committed and determined teachers whose primary goal is excellence. Our staff is committed to excellence not just in education but in making sure their students grow up as good people in society tomorrow. Our students are taught by teachers who are trained and certified in the subjects they teach. Our students are encouraged to strive for excellence every day. GBHS Bafoussam's staff has always sustained a spirit of competition among their students by making each student continuously strive for the best. Moreover, the school also has three guidance counselors who are constantly available to ensure that students follow the appropriate career paths, based on their aptitude interests and abilities. As such, each student leaves ready to face the society.

Students going in for the GCE Ordinary Level, in form five, must register Math, French and English in order to be considered for the exam, and may decide to add a maximum of 8 other academic subjects depending on their career of interest. A minimum grade of C in at least six subjects (including the mandatory subjects) is required for promotion into lower sixth. Upper sixth students at the end of the year sit in for the GCE Advanced Level. Despite grade E being the average passing grade, GBHS requires a minimum grade of C in at least two academic subjects for graduation.
